CONVERSATIONS For CONNECTION
A Relationship Education Group for Couples
Hold Me Tight is a relationship enrichment and education program that helps couples strengthen their emotional connection. It helps partners become more empathic, accessible, responsive and engaged. You’ll learn how to repair patterns in your relationship that cause you unhappiness. You will learn how to build patterns of loving connection.
The Hold Me Tight program helps couples at any stage of a relationship (including pre-marital, pre-natal, empty nesters) who feel unable to find resolution to their moments of disconnection. It is most successful with couples who wish to establish a more secure emotional connection with one another, yet nevertheless, find themselves at an impasse in certain key moments. All participants will better understand the science of attachment and love – the pivotal moves and moments that define a relationship, understand their own emotional responses and needs, learn about negative interactions that create pain and distance, and learn to to shape the positive moments of reaching and responding that create a secure bond. People of all backgrounds, ages, faiths and sexual orientations participate. Highly distressed couples or couples where at least one partner has a severe mental health disorder or active addiction should seek out couples therapy instead of a Hold Me Tight workshop.
Hold Me Tight is an educational program, developed by Sue Johnson, who developed (with Les Greenberg) the model of couple therapy: Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. I recommend that you read the book Hold Me Tight by Sue Johnson in advance of attending a workshop.
A Personal Note About Hold Me Tight
I have assisted valued colleagues at several Hold Me Tight Workshops conducted during the past four years. I was so moved to hear every partner in every couple say these words like these about how the workshop was for their relationship, “Inspired”, “Closer”, “Hopeful”, “Full of Promise”, “We feel like we have a map.” “It is sad to leave. This has felt so safe and good.” “It really helps to know that we are not alone in the way we struggle.” It has been incredibly moving to see couples breakthrough long-standing
I will not be offering a Hold Me Tight Workshop until Mid-2017. Please contact me for a referral to a Hold Me Tight Workshop.
